\r\nThe NYCU Office of Data Analytics and Research Center has developed a "University Research Data Visualization Platform" to integrate campus single sign on access and various visualization dashboards developed on different platforms. Since its official launch in March, the platform has accumulated approximately 500 clicks. To enhance the platform's stability, the center has recently completed a migration of the visualization platform and continues to improve system functionalities and dashboard integration. \r\n \r\nThe platform includes existing dashboards for categories such as global university rankings, sustainability indicators, campus open data statistics, industry academia cooperation projects and funding, tailored admissions support data, graduate tracking surveys, and academic performance tracking. In response to business unit needs, new dashboards have been added, including one for tracking the performance of economically disadvantaged students and another for providing information on the highest educational qualifications of international students. These new features are intended for use by the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of International Affairs. \r\n \r\nThe platform offers dashboard categories for all faculty, staff, and students to access, including: global university rankings, sustainability indicators, and campus open data statistics. Other categories are provided with different access permissions based on specific business needs. To increase dashboard utilization and meet practical needs, the platform has recently added an "Authorization" feature (see figure 3), allowing users with viewing permissions (e.g., department heads) to grant access to other internal users (e.g., departmental assistants). \r\n \r\nTo use the authorization feature, please log in to the university’s single sign on portal and navigate to: NYCU Other University Research Data Visualization Dashboard Platform. The NYCU Chatbot, developed by the NYCU Center for Institutional Research and Data Analytics (CIRDA), is dedicated to providing and broadcasting information on campus matters. In September 2023, the NYCU Chatbot officially partnered with LINE Taiwan and became an official account @nycuchatbot. Since its launch in December 2020, the NYCU Chatbot has undergone several revisions and now boasts nearly 8,000 users.

Functions and services offered by the English version of NYCU Chatbot.

Leveraging the chatbot's technological proficiency and the familiarity of our university's faculty, staff, and students with the NYCU Chatbot, the development team plans to launch an English version in April 2024. This will assist foreign students in accessing comprehensive campus life information via the NYCU Chatbot. \r\nThe English version of NYCU Chatbot is an extension of the original Chinese version of NYCU Chatbot. Users can opt to use either the Chinese or English version upon accessing the account. Recognizing the distinct information needs of foreign students and local students on campus, the English version of NYCU Chatbot provides specific details about campus life, including: "Calendar," "Transportation Info.", "Dining Info.", "Emergency Call," "Opening Hours," "Location," "FAQ," and "Campus Safety SOP." Moving forward, the development team is committed to updating both the Chinese and English versions of NYCU Chatbot to better serve the needs of all faculty and staff on campus.

Application for Using Institutional Research (IR) Data

IR data requests: Teachers who need access to IR database to conduct a research or project should submit the CIRDA proposal (lite version) and apply for the Research Ethics Review by University’s Human Research Ethics Review Board. After obtaining the Certificate of Approval for Human Research, fill in the required information and submit the application documents for IR data.

Institutional Research Data Visualization Dashboards were officially launched.

The NYCU Center for Institutional Research and Data Analytics (CIRDA) is dedicated to visualizing research data at NYCU. Utilizing the research database, the Center integrates this data to create and display pertinent research charts and tables via visual dashboards, offering valuable references to relevant units. To create user-friendly experiences, the Center has integrated the campus portal to develop the “Institutional Research Data Visualization Dashboards” (hereinafter referred to as the integrated platform). The integrated platform was officially launched at the end of February 2024.
\r\n\r\n
The Center has long maintained the Tableau visualization analysis software and established the Tableau Server on campus to facilitate the development and monitoring of the campus environment. This is in accordance with the current data use policy, which prohibits data from being transferred off-campus. Furthermore, with sponsorship from the alumni enterprise Advantech, the school has recently implemented the WISE-PaaS Industrial IoT Cloud Platform. The Center has commenced the first phase of application utilizing the platform's DataInsight integration service and Business Intelligence (BI) service. Recognizing the advantages of both visualization platforms, the Center continues to leverage both for the development of dashboards.
