Image Scanner III and accompanying software LabScan 6.0 are for scanning 1D, 2D gel, or film images. It provides good linear range (up to 3.4 OD), sensitivity and resolution (up to 16-bit pixel) to ensure quantitative accuracy.
In addition, it can also be used for general document scanning, which is more flexible in use.

- Turn on the computer.
- Power on the scanner.
- Open the scanning software "LabScan," you can click the LabScan icon on the desktop
on。 - After entering the software, the calibration information of the instrument will appear, and the user can close this window, as shown in the figure below. 【Note 1】.

- The rest of the usage is the same as the general scanner. First, click
to pre-scann, then click
to select the range to be scanned. Click
to start formal scanning, and finally, click
to Save (please select TIFF file format). - If the sample is colloid (eg: Gel), please wipe the glass cover and base of the scanner with clean ddH2O or 70% alcohol, and thoroughly clean it up. Do not leave any colloid (eg: gel) on the glass, which will make it difficult to clean.
Remark:
- If the instrument is properly calibrated, the red line will be straight, and the number of ticks on the left will be at least the 16th. If the above situation does not occur, please contact the personnel of the Instrument Resource Center as soon as possible.
- Do not move the instrument arbitrarily, or the accuracy of the optical components may be affected. Please contact the staff of the center if you have other needs.
