Level Description
  • Level A: Open to students who need to use it. They can operate it on their own after training and assessment.
  • Level B: Each professor nominates one student for training, while the rest operate under those who have been trained. Professors with multiple students using the instrument can request an increase in the number of students receiving training.
  • Level C: The instrument administrator selects several students recommended by the professor to receive training. After passing the assessment, they can self-operate the instrument and be responsible for delegated operation service.
  • Level D: The laboratory's technical staff only accept delegated services and are unavailable for general use.

Reservation Regulations
  1. Applicants making reservations must meet the service requirements for this period. Those who violate the rules will be suspended from reservation qualifications for one month.
  2. Three missed appointments within a year will suspend reservation qualifications for six months.
  3. If the reservation period conflicts with the manufacturer's instrument maintenance period, instrument maintenance will take priority.
Sample Preparation
  1. Please discuss sample preparation with the operator before scheduling any measurements. This service requires a reservation, so please confirm the experimental conditions and sample restrictions with the instrument operator before starting the experiment.
  2. We do not accept powder samples with volatile and toxic test strips.
Instrument operation and environmental maintenance
  1. Before and after each use, confirm the instrument's condition is normal and log this in the record book to help clarify responsibilities if needed. If the instrument malfunctions during operation, stop all activity immediately and contact the administrator.
  2. Work together to keep the room clean; do not bring food into the laboratory, and arrange the chairs neatly before leaving.
  3. Avoid arbitrarily shutting down the computer. Installing games, illegal software, changing system settings, or accessing the Internet is strictly prohibited.
  4. Improper use of the equipment that results in damage will lead to termination of the user's access unless the instructor provides compensation.
  5. Use your newly burned disc to take stored data with you. (USBs are prohibited).
Other
  1. To ensure the maintenance and enhancement of service quality, kindly acknowledge the name of the instrument and the organization if images captured by this instrument are utilized in journal articles. For example, you could write: "The authors acknowledge the core facility for in-situ multifunctional X-ray diffractometer at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan." Each publication in international journals that uses this instrument can be credited once for each usage fee.
  2. Applicants are required to complete a form when using the instrument for the first time. This is to confirm their understanding of the usage regulations.
  3. Beyond the requirements mentioned above, adjustments to suspension and punishment will be made according to the severity of any breach of rights and responsibilities.
Instructions for instrument training operation application: (Not yet open.)
Level B: Must pass radiation safety training seminar
Personnel operation training will be conducted monthly, and a qualification test will be conducted after completion. Those who pass will be certified to operate specific data measurements by themselves
Instrument Operation Reservation
  1. Users must make appointments at least one week in advance at Room 107, Science Building 2, in Prof. Lee Chi-Shen's Laboratory.
  2. Operators who have completed both the instrument training and radiation safety training are authorized to operate the equipment independently. However, they must collect the key from Room 107, Science Building 2, at Professor Lee Chi-Shen's laboratory before proceeding with their measurements. The key must be returned promptly after completing the operation.
       - Note: Late returns will lead to a suspension of privileges. Access will be temporarily suspended if the key is returned the next day.
