- The scope of application of this machine is as follows:
- For fresh tissue sections.
- Slicing range is 1~60 μm.
- Maximum specimen size is 5×5 cm.
- Temperature range from room temperature to -40°C
Before use:
- Please register your name and instructor's name in the User Registration Book, and ensure that the machine is in good condition and the interior is tidy before use.
- Take the Object Disc (specimen holder), fix the specimen with Mounting Medium, and put it in the Quick-Freeze Shelf to freeze.
- If the CT temperature is lower than the set temperature (-10℃), wait about 1 hour until it reaches the set temperature before use.
- Clean the used specimen holder (Objrct disc) and return it to its original location.
- Use a marker to mark the part of the blade used.
- Apply a drop of lubricant to each rotor port with a syringe, and move the rotor up and down to keep it smooth.
- Clean up remaining glue, excess waste, and specimens inside the chamber.
- If the inside is too messy, replace the pads.
- Set the CT temperature back to -10°C and the OT temperature off.
- Tighten the handle retainer.
- Close the chamber window.
- Reservations must be made online using the Instrument Reservation System before use.
- Reservations can be made as early as two weeks in advance. Each user can book two sessions in 2 weeks, with a maximum of five hours for each session.
- For general operation training, please contact the center's staff for demonstration.
- Do not take the borrowed Object Disc (specimen holder) and related items away from the Center.
- Do not turn off the main switch (Cool-off) of the machine.
- Please keep it clean and functional for all students and faculty.
- Please read the user's manual before use.
- Please do not leave your belongings inside the cryochamber after use, and take away the used blades and waste.
- Please bring your own anti-roll plate!
