第一條 本規章依據大學法及其施行細則、學位授予法及其他有關規定訂定之。
Article 1 These Regulations are provided in accordance with the University Act and the Enforcement Rules of the University Act, the Degree Conferral Act, and other applicable regulations.
第二條 本校各教學單位,除法令另有規定者外,悉依本規章訂定研究生修業規章,循序經所屬學院課程委員會及校級課程委員會審查通過後實施。研究生修業規章應包含下列項目:
一、 入學資格及相關規定:至少包含碩士班研究生逕行修讀博士學位資格、轉系所組規定。
二、 修業年限:至少包含一般生及在職生最低及最高修業年限。
三、 應修學分數及抵免學分規定,其中碩士生逕行修讀博士學位學生應修學分數,應說明是否包含逕行修讀博士學位之前已修習之學分。
四、 訂定論文指導教授之敦請期限。
五、 依本校論文指導教授與研究生互動準則訂定論文指導之更換協調等相關規定。
六、 博士學位候選人資格考核規定。
七、 學位考試之條件與程序(含學位考試次數)。
八、 畢業及離校手續。
Article 2 All teaching institutes of the University must draw out postgraduate study regulations fully based on these Regulations unless otherwise required by the laws. Prior to implementation, the college curricular committee and university curricular committee in proper order must review and approve these postgraduate study regulations. The postgraduate study regulations must include the following rules.
(1) Admission eligibility and relevant requirements: Such requirements shall include at least the eligibility of master’s students for direct admission to the PhD program and the requirements for students applying for transfer of department (program)/graduate institute.
(2) Period of study: The period of study must at least include the minimum and maximum periods of study for full-time and on-job graduate students.
(3) The number of credits required and the requirements for credit transfer/waiver, including specifying whether the credits required for master’s students who are directly admitted to the PhD program include credits earned before direct admission to the PhD program.
(4) Setting the deadline for requesting a thesis advisor.
(5) Establishment of rules for changing and coordinating with the thesis advisor in accordance with the “NYCU Guidelines for the Interaction between Thesis Advisors and Graduate Students.”
(6) PhD candidate qualifying examination (comprehensive test) requirements.
(7) Requirements and procedures for a degree examination (including the number of attempts for a degree examination).
(8) Processes for graduation and leaving.
第三條 本校碩士班之修業年限以一至四年為限,博士班之修業年限以二至七年為限,在職進修研究生,碩士班得延長修業年限一年,博士班得延長修業年限二年。
各教學單位得依其特性需要,另行規範最低修業年限。
Article 3 The study period of the master’s program shall be one to four years, and the study period of the PhD program shall be two to seven years. For on-job graduate students, the study period may be extended for one year for the master’s program and two years for the PhD program.
Each academic unit may, based on the needs of its nature, establish its own minimum study period.
第四條 本校各碩士班研究生,符合下列規定者,提出論文,得申請碩士學位考試,經碩士學位考試委員會考試通過者,由本校授予碩士學位:
一、 碩士班修業逾一學期。
二、 完成各教學單位規定之應修課程、學分數及碩士學位所須通過之其他考核。
三、 當學期結束才可完成應修課程、學分數及其他考核規定者,若提出論文,經指導教授推薦,得提早舉行碩士學位考試,俟課程完成並獲得應修學分數後授予碩士學位。未能於該學期完成應修課程者,學位考試成績不予採認。
藝術類、應用科技類碩士班,其學生碩士論文得以作品、成就證明連同書面報告或以技術報告代替;碩士班屬專業實務者,其學生碩士論文得以專業實務報告代替。
藝術類、應用科技類、專業實務等類科之認定基準,由各教學單位提經院級會議及教務會議通過後實施。
前項各該類科,得以作品、成就證明連同書面報告、技術報告或專業實務報告,代替碩士論文之認定範圍、資料型式、內容項目及其他相關事項之準則,依教育部規定。
已於國內、境外取得學位之論文、作品、成就證明、書面報告、技術報告或專業實務報告,不得再行提出作為碩士學位考試之論文、作品、成就證明、書面報告、技術報告或專業實務報告。但經由本校學術合作,與境外學校共同指導論文,並分別授予學位者,不在此限。
Article 4 Any master’s student who has fulfilled the following requirements and submitted a thesis may apply for a degree examination, and will be granted a master’s degree after passing the degree examination conducted by an examination committee:
(1) The student’s study period in the master’s program has exceeded one semester.
(2) The student has completed the required courses and earned the required credits specified by each academic unit and has passed other examinations required for a master’s degree.
(3) However, a student who has submitted his/her thesis and who is recommended by the supervisor may apply for an early oral defense even if he/she will not complete the required courses, credit hours, and other evaluations until the end of the semester. The master’s degree will be conferred after the courses are completed and the required credits are earned by the student. If any required course is not completed during that semester, the oral defense will not be recognized.
A master’s student in art or applied technology may submit his/her work, a certificate of achievements and a written report or technical report as his/her thesis. A master’s student in any field of professional practice may submit a professional practice report as his/her thesis.
The criteria for determination of a program in art, applied technology or any field of professional practice shall be implemented after such criteria are submitted by each academic unit to and approved by a college-level meeting and an academic affairs meeting.
The guidelines regarding the scope of determination, types of materials, contents and relevant matters of any program area under the preceding paragraph for which a master’s student may submit his/her work, a certificate of achievements and a written report, technical report or professional practice report as his/her thesis shall be in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education.
Any thesis, work, certificate of achievements, written report, technical report or professional practice report for which a domestic or foreign degree has been granted may not be submitted again by a master’s student for oral defense, except where degrees are granted separately through joint supervision of thesis under an academic cooperation arrangement between NYCU and a foreign college or university.
第五條 學位考試含論文考試及論文審查。
Article 5 The oral defense includes thesis examinations and thesis review.
第六條 本校各碩士班研究生之碩士學位考試委員會置委員三至五人,由該教學單位就校內外學者專家中對該研究生之研究領域有專門研究,並具備下列資格之一者,向校長推薦,由校長遴聘組成之。
一、 現任或曾任教授、副教授、助理教授。
二、 中央研究院院士、現任或曾任中央研究院研究員、副研究員、助研究員。
三、 獲有博士學位,且在學術上著有成就。
四、 研究領域屬於稀少性、特殊性學科或屬專業實務,且在學術上或專業上著有成就。
前項第三款、第四款資格之認定基準,由辦理學位授予之各教學單位訂定之。
碩士班研究生之配偶、前配偶或三等親內之血親、姻親,不得擔任其碩士學位考試委員。
Article 6 The Examination Committee of each master’s candidate must consist of three to five members recommended to the president by the teaching institute from among the scholars and experts inside and outside of NYCU specializing in the area of research or study of the applicant. These members must fulfill at least one of the following requirements. The organization of the committee shall be subject to the president’s decision.
(1) The member is or was a professor, associate professor or assistant professor.
(2) Is a research fellow, or is or was a researcher, associate researcher, or assistant researcher of Academia Sinica.
(3) The member holds a PhD degree and has outstanding academic achievements.
(4) The member’s area of study concerns a rare or special subject or a professional practice, and the member has outstanding academic or professional achievements.
The criteria for determination of the requirements in subparagraphs 3 and 4 of the preceding paragraph shall be established by each degree-conferring academic unit.
The current or former spouse of a master’s student or any of his/her relatives by blood or marriage within the third degree may not serve as a member of the examination committee for his/her oral defense.
第七條 本校各博士班研究生,符合下列規定者,得為博士學位候選人。
一、 完成博士學位必修課程與學分數。
二、 通過博士學位候選人資格考核及各教學單位規定之博士學位候選人所須通過之其他考核規定。
博士學位候選人提出論文且合於各教學單位之相關規定者,得申請博士學位考試(博士班修業逾三學期。逕行修讀博士學位者,在博士班修業逾三學期),經博士學位考試委員會考試通過者,由本校授予博士學位。
藝術類或應用科技類博士班,其學生博士論文得以作品、成就證明連同書面報告或以技術報告代替。前述類科之認定基準,由各教學單位提經院級會議及教務會議通過後實施。
前項各該類科,得以作品、成就證明連同書面報告、技術報告,代替博士論文之認定範圍、資料型式、內容項目及其他相關事項之準則,依教育部規定。
已於國內、境外取得學位之論文、作品、成就證明、書面報告或技術報告,不得再行提出作為博士學位考試之論文、作品、成就證明、書面報告或技術報告。但經由本校學術合作,與境外學校共同指導論文,並分別授予學位者,不在此限。
Article 7 Any PhD student who has fulfilled the following requirements may become a PhD candidate:
(1) The student has completed the required courses and earned the required credits for a PhD degree.
(2) A PhD student who has passed the PhD candidate qualifying examination and other examinations required by the relevant academic unit for a PhD candidate.
Any PhD student who has submitted a thesis and fulfilled the requirements of the relevant academic unit may apply for a degree examination (the candidate’s study period in the PhD program must exceed three semesters; for any candidate who has been directly admitted to the PhD program, his/her study period in the PhD program must exceed three semesters), and will be granted a PhD degree after passing the degree examination conducted by an examination committee.
A PhD student in art or applied technology may submit his/her work, a certificate of achievements and a written report or technical report as his/her thesis. The criteria for determination of any program area under the preceding paragraph shall be implemented after such criteria are submitted by each academic unit to and approved by a college-level meeting and an academic affairs meeting.

第八條 本校各博士班研究生之博士學位考試委員會置委員五至九人,由該教學單位就校內外學者專家中對該博士學位候選人之研究領域有專門研究,並具備下列資格之一者,向校長推薦,由校長遴聘組成之,校內外委員均各須佔三分之一(含)以上。
一、 現任或曾任教授、副教授。
二、 中央研究院院士、現任或曾任中央研究院研究員、副研究員。
三、 獲有博士學位,且在學術上著有成就。
四、 研究領域屬於稀少性或特殊性學科,且在學術或專業上著有成就。
前項第三款至第四款資格之認定基準,由辦理學位授予之各教學單位訂定之。
博士班研究生之配偶、前配偶或三等親內之血親、姻親,不得擔任其博士學位考試委員。
Article 8 The Examination Committee of each PhD candidate must consist of five to nine members recommended to the president by the teaching institute from among the scholars and experts inside and outside of NYCU specializing in the area of research or study of the applicant. These members must fulfill at least one of the following requirements. The organization of the committee shall be subject to the president’s decision. The number of members from inside and outside of NYCU must be no less than a third of the total number of members.
(1) The member is or was a professor or associate professor.
(2) Is a research fellow, or is or was a researcher or associate researcher of Academia Sinica.
(3) The member holds a PhD degree, and has outstanding academic achievements.
(4) The member’s area of study concerns a rare or specific subject, and the member has outstanding academic or professional achievements.
The criteria for determination of the requirements in subparagraphs 3 and 4 of the preceding paragraph shall be established by each degree-conferring academic unit.
The current or former spouse of a PhD student or any of his/her relatives by blood or marriage within the third degree may not serve as a member of the examination committee for his/her oral defense.
第九條 本校碩士學位及博士學位候選人之論文考試,以口試行之,必要時得舉行筆試、實驗考試或以視訊方式進行,並應依下列規定辦理:
一、 研究生申請學位考試至遲需於考試日前七日提出申請,經核准後方得舉行。
二、 論文考試舉行前,應完成論文原創性比對報告並供考試委員參考;於論文考試結束後,由指導教授於學位考試成績資料表簽核確認。
三、 口試以公開舉行為原則,須於事前公佈口試時間、地點及論文題目。
四、 學位考試委員應親自出席委員會,不得委託他人為代表。碩士學位考試委員會至少應有委員三人出席;博士學位考試委員會至少應有委員五人出席,且出席委員中校外委員需有三分之一(含)以上始得舉行。不符合本款規定者不得舉行考試,已舉行者其成績以不予採認。
五、 學位考試委員會,由教學單位主管核定一人為召集人,但指導教授不得兼任召集人。
六、 考試成績,以B-(百分制七十分)為及格,A+(百分制一百分)為滿分,並以出席委員評定分數平均決定之,但碩士學位考試有二分之一以上出席委員,博士學位考試有三分之一以上出席委員評定不及格者,學位考試成績以不及格論,不予平均。
七、 學位考試委員應檢核學生論文題目與內容是否符合學生所屬教學單位之專業研究領域,並由學位考試召集人於學位考試成績資料表簽核確認。
八、 論文有造假、變造、抄襲、由他人代寫或其他舞弊情事,經學位考試委員會審查確定者,學位考試成績以零分登錄且不得重考。
九、 各教學單位研究生修業規章中列明之其他規定。
十、 著作彙編之學位論文應依本校著作彙編之學位論文應行注意事項辦理。
Article 9 Examination of the thesis of a master’s student or PhD candidate shall be conducted orally or, if necessary, in the form of a written or experimental examination or by video conferencing, in accordance with the following requirements:
(1) A master’s student or PhD candidate shall apply for a degree examination at least seven days prior to the date of examination, and approval must be given for the examination to be conducted.
(2) Prior to a thesis examination, a “thesis originality check” report shall be completed and submitted to the members of the examination committee for reference. After completion of the thesis examination, the thesis advisor shall sign the Degree Examination Grade Sheet for confirmation.
(3) An oral examination shall in principle be conducted publicly. The time and place of the oral examination and the title of the thesis shall be announced prior to the examination.
(4) All members of the degree examination committee shall attend in person. Attendance by proxy is not permitted. A master’s degree examination requires the attendance of at least three members of the examination committee. A PhD degree examination requires the attendance of at least five members of the examination committee with non-NYCU members accounting for at least one-third of the attending members. Any examination not meeting the requirements of this subparagraph may not be conducted, and the grade of any such examination will not be recognized.
(5) The head of the relevant academic unit shall appoint one of the members of the examination committee as its convener, who may not be a thesis advisor.
(6) The passing grade shall be B- (70/100), with A+ (100/100) as the maximum grade. The grade shall be determined by the average of the grades given by the attending members of the examination committee. If at least half of the members attending a master’s degree examination or at least one-third of the members attending a PhD degree examination have given failing grades, the degree examination grade shall be deemed as failing without averaging the given grades.
(7) The examination committee shall check whether the title and contents of the thesis of a student or candidate are consistent with the area of study in which the academic unit of the student or candidate is specialized, and the convener of the committee shall sign the Degree Examination Grade Sheet for confirmation.
(8) If the examination committee reviewing a thesis has found and confirmed any fraud, alternation, plagiarism, ghostwriting or other fraudulent practice regarding the thesis, the degree examination grade will be recorded as zero, and the examination will not be reconducted.
(9) Each academic unit shall specify other related requirements in its regulations for graduate programs.
(10) Thesis by publication shall meet National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University Rules for Thesis by Publication.
第十條 論文通過口試者由口試委員明示論文修改方向及要點,做為學生修改論文之依據。
學生論文應提交論文審查,論文審查至少須經三分之二考試委員同意始為通過。
論文審查不另評分,論文審查通過者,由出席論文考試之委員簽署「學位論文審定同意書」。完成論文審定者,論文考試成績即為學位考試成績。
修改後之論文定稿應完成論文原創性比對報告並經指導教授確認。
Article 10 For any student or candidate whose thesis has passed the oral examination, the oral examination committee will provide directions and instructions as the basis for revision of the student or candidate’s thesis.
The student or candidate shall submit the thesis for review. The thesis will pass review only if approved by at least two-thirds of the members of the oral examination committee.
No separate grade will be given for the thesis review. Where the thesis has passed review, the attending members of the oral examination committee shall sign a “Thesis Approval Form.” For any student or candidate whose thesis has been approved, the thesis examination grade will be his/her degree examination grade.
Postgraduate students should complete a report of originality comparison of their revised dissertation (thesis) and it should also be confirmed by their advisor.
第十一條 學位考試通過後,學生應於考試當學期繳交「學位考試成績資料表」至註冊組,第一學期需於1月31日前繳交;第二學期需於7月31日前繳交。
通過學位考試之研究生,應繳交學位考試成績資料表、學位論文紙本、學位論文原創性比對報告、學位論文學術倫理暨原創性比對聲明書,將論文摘要及全文電子檔上網建檔,並完成畢業離校程序後,註冊組始得發給學位證書。
學位論文紙本之繳交期限為舉行學位考試日的次學期上課開始日前最後一個工作日,逾期未交論文紙本且未達修業年限者,次學期仍應註冊。
修業年限屆滿者,未於年限屆滿當學期繳交學位考試成績資料表或未於次學期上課開始日前最後一個工作日前繳交紙本論文,應予退學。
Article 11 Any student who has passed the degree examination shall submit the “Degree Examination Grade Sheet” to the Division of the Registrar during the semester in which the examination is conducted. The deadline for its submission shall be January 31 in the first (fall) semester or July 31 in the second (spring) semester.
Postgraduate students who have passed the degree examination should submit their degree examination result sheet, hard copies of their dissertation, a report of originality comparison of their dissertation, and a statement of academic ethics and originality comparison, as well as upload their thesis abstract and full-text electronic file online and complete the school-leaving procedures before the Division of Registrar issue a degree certificate to them.
The deadline for submission of a printed thesis shall be the final working day before the date when the class starts as identified in the calendar of the following semester to the one in which the degree examination is conducted. Any student who has failed to submit a printed thesis by the deadline and whose study period has not expired shall still register in the next semester.
Any student whose study period has expired and who has failed to submit the Degree Examination Grade Sheet within the semester when his/her study period expires or submit a printed thesis by the final working day before the date when the class starts as identified in the calendar of the next semester shall withdraw from NYCU.
第十二條 已申請學位考試之研究生,若因故無法於該學期內完成學位考試,各教學單位應於次學期第一個工作日將未舉行考試之名單提交註冊組。
Article 12 Where any graduate student who has applied for a degree examination is unable to complete the degree examination within the semester, regardless of the reason, the relevant academic unit shall submit a list of graduate students for whom the degree examination has not been conducted to the Division of the Registration on the first working date of the next semester.
第十三條 凡逕行修讀博士學位之研究生,通過博士學位候選人資格考核,但未通過博士學位考試,其論文、作品、成就證明連同書面報告或技術報告經博士學位考試委員會決定合於碩士學位標準者,得授予碩士學位。
如不符合前項情形者,得依本校學生逕修讀博士學位作業規定申請轉回原教學單位繼續修讀碩士學位或申請轉入相關教學單位修讀碩士學位。
Article 13 Where any graduate student who has been directly admitted to the PhD program has passed the PhD candidate qualifying examination but failed to pass the PhD degree examination, he/she may be granted a master’s degree if his/her thesis, work, certificate of achievements and written or technical report have been determined by the PhD degree examination committee to be fulfilling the requirements for a master’s degree.
If the circumstance in the preceding paragraph does not apply, the graduate student may apply for transfer back to the original academic unit to continue his/her study in the master’s program or for transfer to a relevant academic unit for study in the master’s program in accordance with the “NYCU Regulations for Direct Pursuit of PhD Degree.”
第十四條 本校碩、博士班研究生在規定修業期限內未能通過學位考試或未能完成應修課程者,應令退學。
Article 14 Any master’s or PhD student who has failed to pass the degree examination or complete the required courses within the specified study period shall withdraw from NYCU.
第十五條 博士、碩士學位論文(含摘要)以中文或英文撰寫為原則,並須符合本校學位論文格式規範。學位考試通過後應將論文摘要及全文電子檔上網建檔(依照本校圖書館學位論文摘要及全文電子檔建檔規範辦理),並繳交論文二冊(一冊本校圖書館陳列,一冊由國家圖書館收藏),各教學單位之收藏冊數自訂之。
學位論文之保存或提供依學位授予法第十六條辦理。但涉及機密、專利事項或依法不得提供者,則依本校學位論文延後公開相關規定處理。
Article 15 A master’s or PhD thesis (including its abstract) shall in principle be written in Chinese or English and shall meet the requirements for the format of a degree thesis of NYCU. Any graduate student who has passed the degree examination shall upload an electronic file of the abstract and full text of his/her thesis online (in accordance with the NCYU Guide for Submitting Electronic Theses & Dissertations (ETD)) and submit two copies of his/her thesis (one shall be displayed in the NYCU Library and one shall be provided to the National Central Library for collection). Each academic unit shall determine the number of copies for its collection.
The preservation or provision of a degree thesis shall be in accordance with Article 16 of the Degree Conferral Act. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any degree thesis involving confidential or patent information or the provision of which is prohibited by law shall be subject to the “NYCU Regulations for Embargo of Degree Thesis/Dissertation.”
第十六條 本校對已授予之碩士及博士學位,有下列情事之一者,將予撤銷,並公告註銷已頒給之學位證書。
一、 入學資格或修業情形有不實或舞弊情事。
二、 論文、作品、成就證明、書面報告、技術報告或專業實務報告有造假、變造、抄襲、由他人代寫或其他舞弊情事。
依前項規定撤銷學位後,將通知當事人繳還該學位證書,並將撤銷及註銷事項,通知其他專科學校、大學及相關機關。
Article 16 If any of the following circumstances applies to any student who has been granted a master’s or PhD degree, his/her degree shall be revoked, and the degree certificate awarded shall be canceled by announcement:
(1) His/Her admission eligibility or course of study involves misrepresentation or fraud.
(2) His/Her thesis, work, certificate of achievements or written, technical or professional practice report involves fraud, alternation, plagiarism, ghostwriting or other fraudulent practice.
After the degree has been revoked in accordance with the preceding paragraph, a notice shall be given to require the student to return his/her degree certificate, and other junior colleges, universities and competent authorities shall be informed of such revocation and cancellation.
第十七條 本規章未盡事宜,悉依大學法及其施行細則、學位授予法及有關教育法令辦理之。
Article 17 Matters not provided herein must be subject to the University Act and the Enforcement Rules of the University Act, the Degree Conferral Act, and other education-related laws and regulations.
第十八條 本規章經教務會議通過後公告施行,並報教育部備查,修正時亦同。
Article 18 This Regulations and any amendment thereof shall be implemented after approval by an academic affairs meeting, and filed with the Ministry of Education.
本法規有中英文兩個版本,在有疑義的情況下以中文版為準。
These Regulations are adopted in Chinese, which shall prevail in case of any discrepancy between the English translation and the Chinese original.
